Diverse have a long standing history supporting The Ocean Race, and the 2023 edition is no exception!
The Ocean Race is often described as the longest and toughest professional sporting event in the world! It has now entered a new era as the event continues to evolve.
Two classes will compete with the addition of the high-tech, foiling IMOCA 60 class adding a design and technical element.
Designed to showcase professional fully-crewed offshore racing: the 65-foot one-design VO65 (their 3rd edition of the race) and the 60-foot IMOCA 60. Both classes of boat are capable of high speeds and in the right conditions can cover 600 nautical miles or more in 24-hours!
The preparations Diverse have undertaken ahead of the Leg 1 start, include:
- Every Boat in The Ocean Race features our Load Pins on board!
- 11th Hour Racing’s Mālama is the first-ever foiling IMOCA 60 designed specifically for The Ocean Race, which the Diverse team have Specified, Designed, Installed and Commissioned the complete Electrical & Electronics System on board.
- WindWhisper Racing requested a complete a full electrical & electronics service, including upgrading the wind gear, mast cabling and supplied Mastervolt battery systems.
- Austrian Ocean Racing have had our team undertake a full electronics survey to ensure they are race ready!
- The majority of the VO65 fleet also feature a complete electronics re-fit which we undertook ahead of the previous Volvo Ocean Race.
