SPIRIT 111 Beauty, Performance Sustainability
- The Spirit 111 designed and built in-house by Spirit Yachts is one of the most environmentally friendly sailing superyachts ever created, and was crowned “Sailing Yacht of the Year” at the World Super Yacht Awards in 2021 for her refreshing mix of top quality, traditional beauty, innovative interior design, and advanced technology.
- Diverse Performance Systems were brought on board to Improve Racing Performance, Improve Reliability and Reduce Noise.
- We took their underpowered 25kW 400v hydraulic power unit and replaced it, increasing their cruising hydraulic power to achieve any operation needed without any drop in performance and then doubling it again ready for any demands experienced when they start racing.
- We supplied a 2 x 50kW 400v hydraulic powerpacks and to account for this greater power use supplied a replacement reservoir.
- In addition following discussions with the boat, to improve functionality of the system and provide more flexibility we replaced the main PLC controller and upgraded user interfaces with system monitoring, more advanced controls and alarms……… including wireless access to the system, maintaining the design ethos of this first class super yacht!
